Zach Owens

Zach Kawika Owens (he/him) is the Residence Life Coordinator for Loosehead (Loose, Read, and Haines Halls) at Grinnell College. He graduated with a degree in Political Science and International Studies from Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY. Zach has experience in social justice, cross-border, and non-profit work through his undergraduate positions in Legal Asylum Procedures (NL), English Conversation Instruction (NL), Sustainability/Nutrition (KE), and International Programs Advising (NY). In Zach’s full-time professional career, he worked as an Implementation Consultant at Epic supporting patient healthcare before moving to Grinnell.

Zach is originally from the Midwest, living between Indiana and Michigan, before moving overseas to live between Kenya, Uganda, and The Central African Republic during Middle and High School, before doing college in NY and The Netherlands. Zach is a fervent Chelsea FC supporter and an avid traveler having visited a further 15 countries beyond the 5 where he has lived. On campus, Zach enjoys walking the green spaces, working out at the Bear, and attending campus sporting and music events
