Ira Strauber

Ira L. Strauber is Professor Emeritus of Political Science (B.A. Queens College, CUNY; M.A. Northwestern University; Ph. D., Brown University). He taught from 1973-2008 and held Senior Faculty Status, 2009-2013. Strauber taught courses in political theory and constitutional law and politics; was co-founder and then director for the interdisciplinary team-taught course in medieval and renaissance culture; and a co-founder for a team-taught course in technology and politics.  His publications are primarily in constitutional law and politics. “Neglected Policies: Constitutional Law and Legal Commentary as Civic Education” (Duke University Press) received the C. Herman Pritchett Award, Law & Courts Section, American Political Science Association, Best Book on Law and Courts. His latest publication was “Televising Supreme Court Oral Argument?” (2016), Law, Culture, and Humanities (published on-line, 2012). He resides in Forest Hills, New York.
