After Commencement

Final Transcripts

The registrar will not be able to finalize (the degree, major, and honors) transcripts for graduating seniors until mid-June. If you request transcripts in June, please tell us to hold the request until the degree has been noted on the transcripts; transcripts sent in early June will not show your final degree.

Students who have not completed their graduation requirements will receive their diploma once all degree requirements are complete. When your requirements are complete and we have conferred your degree, we will have your diploma mailed to you.

If you are unable to attend Commencement, please contact the Office of the Registrar with contact and mailing information.

The Office of Development and Alumni Relations

Interacting with fellow alumni is one of the most effective ways to pursue your post-graduation goals, and the Office of Development and Alumni Relations is dedicated to helping you build those connections. We warmly welcome you to the Grinnell alumni online community, a space designed to keep you engaged and informed.

On this site, you will find a wealth of resources to stay connected. Access the alumni directory to reconnect with classmates, learn about and register for regional events, virtual events, class and affinity reunions, and update your contact information. Do not forget to share your milestones — whether related to family, education, or career — to continue being an active part of the Grinnell community long after your time on campus.

We also host an array of activities, from summer picnics to professional networking events. Be sure to subscribe to our monthly e-newsletter for valuable resources, upcoming events, and even spotlights on your fellow alumni. To stay up to date, make sure your contact information is current.

Expand your network further by joining the Grinnell College Alumni group on LinkedIn or our other social media spaces. Explore career-engagement opportunities that can help advance your professional journey and a current Grinnellian’s.

Let the Grinnell alumni community be a lifelong resource as you navigate your personal and professional future.

Email and Network Access

One month after commencement, your Grinnell College network account will transition to Alumni status. Access to your @grinnell.edu email mailbox will be retained. Duo will no longer be required for signing in. You may modify your password anytime.

Alumni do not have access to Grinnell College-sponsored Microsoft 365 OneDrive and Office web applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), network storage on \\storage, and Blackboard. Transfer any files you wish to keep from your Microsoft 365 OneDrive and network storage to an alternate location. Your files will only be retained by the College for 30 days following commencement.

You may secure a separate Outlook account on your own. This separate Outlook account would replace the services and allow you to migrate your files in bulk at no cost. The Microsoft Outlook website has details about Outlook accounts and how to use the OneDrive.

If you have questions or concerns, please contact Information Technology Services.

Order a Copy of the Cyclone

The Cyclone is the College yearbook, funded by the Student Publications & Radio Committee (SPARC) and put together by the Student Alumni Council (SAC).

Though content varies from year to year, it generally covers major campus events, student organizations, athletics, theatre/dance, and other campus traditions. Additionally, all seniors are invited to submit a personal photo and quote for inclusion in the senior section.

Questions? Email The Cyclone for more information.
