Grinnell College is engaged in the search process for its 14th president. After nearly a decade as president, Raynard S. Kington, M.D., Ph.D. will be leaving the College at the end of the academic year in order to become the new Head of Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts.
For additional information, you can read the Presidential Transition Announcement and an update about the Presidential Search Process from Board of Trustees Chair David Maxwell. A Search Committee has been formed, and Isaacson, Miller has been retained to assist with identifying and recruiting candidates for President Kington’s successor.
The Search Committee has officially launched its work and helped host members of the Isaacson, Miller search consulting team during a campus visit the week of January 27.
During that visit meetings were held to solicit input from a wide range of Grinnell constituents, including staff, faculty, and students, who participated in robust discussions about what Grinnellians hope the next president will do/accomplish, aspirations for the College, and how Grinnell might evolve under new presidential leadership in the coming years.
Over the next few weeks, the Presidential Search Committee and Isaacson, Miller will use the input gathered during these meetings to draft a position profile that will be the key document shared with prospective candidates early in the search.
If you were unable to attend any of the meetings on campus, or if you did attend and have additional feedback to share, we have created a presidential search email address where you can send further comments: email@example.com. Comments sent to this email will be shared confidentially with members of the Presidential Search Committee and Isaacson, Miller.
From this webpage, individuals can apply, submit a nomination, or contact Isaacson, Miller with questions or comments.
