Professor Joe Neisser received NIH grant for an interdisciplinary project tied to epilepsy treatment

Clark Lindgren, Patricia A. Johnson Professor of Neuroscience, has been awarded a $515,078 grant from the National Institutes of Health’s (NIH) National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke.

A summer MAP brought Ioanna Giannakou ’24 into close contact with rats, studying the effects of early-life stress on their anxiety and depression levels.

Clark Lindgren, Patricia A. Johnson Professor of Neuroscience, has received the Society for Neuroscience's Award for Education in Neuroscience, recognizing individuals who have made outstanding contributions to neuroscience education and training.

When Alyssa Hyndman ’20 came to Grinnell as a first-year student from Clarksville, Indiana, she brought with her a budding interest in biology that she thought might lead to a major — and maybe even a career. With her first intro to biology course as a Grinnellian, she knew this was the case.

They will use the prestigious grants to support international study, research, and teaching.

Each student will receive $30,000 for postgraduate travel and exploration.
