John Rommereim and Claudia Anderson to Perform "Homelands"

John Rommereim, professor and composer, and Claudia Anderson, flutist and lecturer will perform Homelands virtually on Thursday, March 25 at 6 p.m. CDT.

This concert of recent works for flute and piano, presented by Parma Recordings, includes the premieres of two works by Rommereim and was primarily recorded in Sebring-Lewis Hall in the Bucksbaum Center for the Arts on campus. The concert concludes with Aaron Copland’s beloved work, “Duo,” and interviews with two composer/flutists, Ian Clarke and Allison Loggins-Hull.

Rommereim is the Blanche Johnson Professor of Music and conducts the Grinnell Singers and the Grinnell Oratorio Society, and he teaches composition. His choral works have been performed by distinguished ensembles across the U.S.

Anderson is an Applied Music Associate Lecturer and the Director of the Grinnell College Fresh Flutes ensemble. She is presently principal flute with the Waterloo/Cedar Falls Symphony.
