Staff council recognized the following staff members as the fall 2022 Staff Council Grand Grinnellian Award winners. Each of the winners has demonstrated their commitment and dedication to the college by being an excellent performer in their duties while representing the core values of the institution, our THRIVE principles, and the mission of Grinnell College.

Grinnell College is celebrating the $116,000 renewal of a grant that supports the College’s Mellon-Mays Undergraduate Fellowship program. This program is the central component of the Mellon Foundation’s efforts to increase diversity in the faculty ranks of institutions of higher learning nationwide by supporting students from groups historically excluded from the academy as they pursue Ph.D.s.
The start of the 2022-23 academic year brings new faces to the campus and community.

The Haitian Arts Digital Crossroads (HADC) presents Introduction to the Contemporary Roles
of Haitian Vodou from 5-7 pm on Monday, June 27,2022 in HSSC *N3110.

This is the inaugural year of recognizing Juneteenth with a holiday, giving employees of the College an opportunity to celebrate the historic day with loved ones.

Scott’s address, “The Magic of the Red Shoes,” will be a continuation of the exploration of the Wizard of Oz as a truth telling moment.

Jin Feng will serve as the Associate Dean for Faculty Development and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Her commitment to faculty development and mentoring faculty throughout the stages of careers and leadership and experience will be beneficial to the Grinnell Community.

Grinnell College is pleased to host Deidre DeJear for a virtual event on Jan. 18 at 7 p.m. in celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Recognizing that there is value in even our most challenging circumstances, Deidre DeJear will deliver a message on how to harness the power of 2020 to deliver triumphant victories.
