The 2019 Bachelor of Arts Exhibition (BAX), which features works in the creative arts by 23 students, will open with a reception from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, in the Faulconer Gallery.

Emily Stamey ’01 curated a traveling exhibition that brings together the work of 21 contemporary artists who use familiar fairy tales to examine the staggering complexities of contemporary life.

"Irresistible Images: Photographs from a Private Collection" features more than 200 photos from the dawn of photography in the 1840s through the early 20th century, while "Watercolors of Corporal John Gaddis: Documenting the Civil War" features a series of 14 watercolor paintings by a Union army soldier in the 1860s.

The Faulconer Gallery will display works ranging from the surreal to hyper-real June 29 to Sept. 15, 2018.

Making Life Visible opens Feb. 2 and features works from 16 contemporary artists and scientists.

The exhibition, curated by nine Grinnell College students, opens on Thursday, Jan. 25 and includes prominent works by Haitian American artist Edouard Duval-Carrié.

Premiere, and talk by scholar Rashmi Varma, are part of exhibition at Faulconer Gallery.
