I am a historian of China and East Asia. Both my research and teaching interests are rooted in the intersections of law, politics, religion, and economy. My current book project, The Common Good, studies the production of the modern Chinese polity through a new moral economy centered on public property regimes. My course offerings include the history of political economy, legal histories, history of human rights, magic and political crimes, and Asian great books.
