Curtis Tamm

Curtis James Tamm is a filmmaker and sound artist exploring the tension between myth and materialism.

Tamm has exhibited solo and collaborative works at venues such as Berkeley Art Museum (USA), Rubin Museum of Art (USA), Mengi Performance Center (Iceland), Titanik gallery (FI), Santozeum (GR), Skaftfell Center for Visual Art (IS), Venice Biennale (IT), Bemis Center for Contemporary Art (US), and the Mori Museum of Art (JP), among others.

He is a recipient of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), Art and Technology Lab grant for an ongoing project exploring the pre-technological origins and metaphysical function of the aural-warning siren, and holds a doctoral degree from the University of Southern California, School of Cinematic Arts for research investigating the relationship of cinema to ecstasy, possession and epileptic seizures.
