The Office of Intercultural Affairs is pleased that you are interested in our Peer Connections Pre-Orientation Program!
This year's Peer Connections Pre-Orientation Program will be held from August 19-23, 2019. Registered participants can expect to move in on Monday, August 19, 2019.
The Peer Connections Pre-Orientation Program (PCPOP) is a year-long program designed for first-year students from historically marginalized identities and backgrounds, including but not limited to, students of color, first-generation students, students with disabilities, and LGBTQIA+ students. PCPOP creates opportunities for emerging student leaders to express their authentic self, acknowledge the realities of others, and recognize the impact of the environment they are in. PCPOP serves as a chance for students to build intentional relationships with students, staff, and faculty to greatly enhance their academic, social, and cultural capital during their tenure as students at Grinnell College.
Students will continue to build community through intentional programming as the school year commences. This year-long program is a chance for students to build intentional relationships with students, staff, and faculty to greatly enhance their academic, social, and cultural capital during their four-year tenure as students of Grinnell College. Among such interactions will be weekly meetings with a peer mentor, monthly "PopUps" or community gatherings, and regular engagement with the Intercultural Affairs team.
There is no charge to participate in PCPOP. Upon your arrival to campus, you will move into your Residence Hall room that has been assigned to you and all meals are provided.
All inquiries can be directed via email to Intercultural Affairs or by phone at 641-269-3700.
