Gender, Women’s and Sexuality Studies Course List Fall 2 - 2020

The major in gender, women’s, and sexuality studies requires the following:

  1. Introduction to Gender, Women’s, and Sexuality Studies (GWS 111)
  2. Theory and Methodology in Gender, Women’s, and Sexuality Studies (GWS 249, offered fall only)
  3. Five courses (20 credits) from at least three of the four thematic rubrics listed below:
    1. sexuality and queer studies
    2. cross-cultural and transnational approaches
    3. literary criticism and visual culture
    4. political/philosophical/historical/social analyses
  4. At least two of these five courses (or 8 credits) must be at the 300-level
  5. Senior Seminar in Gender, Women’s, and Sexuality Studies (GWS 495, offered spring only; only open to graduating majors)
