  • Faculty & Staff Booster Requirement Deadline Friday Jan. 7

    Today, I write with warm wishes for this new year and to remind you of the College’s requirement for faculty and staff members to receive a COVID-19 booster to be completed by Friday, January 7. An invitation to a town hall providing further information about our current Covid planning will be sent in the coming days. In the meantime, employees can confidentially upload their updated vaccination information though the SHAW Portal.  
  • Updates on COVID-19 Testing for Students on Arrival Post Winter Break

    As students return to campus from winter break the College will be administering COVID-19 tests at Harris Center. Testing will be offered from 1-5p.m. on Friday, January 21 and Saturday January 22.

    In our transition from a very full fall semester to a most welcome winter break, I write with preparations for our spring semester. I do so with tremendous thanks and admiration for our campus community’s efforts and resolve this fall; they stood us in good stead and can continue to support community health and well-being at Grinnell.
  • ALERT - High Wind Warning for 12/15 Shelter in place begins at 4 p.m. tomorrow

    Campus will be closing to the public at 3 p.m. and students are to shelter in their residence halls starting at 4 p.m. tomorrow, Wednesday, Dec. 15 due to the potential of dangerous winds. The National Weather Service is predicting that wind gusts may exceed 60 miles an hour in our area beginning in the late afternoon through the overnight hours. Safety is our top priority, and we want to ensure that all faculty, staff, and students are home and/or in their residence halls before the weather intensifies.

    COVID-19 cases continue to rise locally, and over the past week we have experienced a handful of cases on campus. Although our numbers continue to remain low we are closely watching this trend and are working to understand if these cases are related or a result of community spread.
