The winner of the 2020 SPARK Challenge, Sharene Gould Dulabaum ’22, centered her project around the major problem of excess waste on campus. After observing that many students failed to properly sort their trash into compost, landfill, and recycling, Dulabaum proposed a new system of centralized waste bins that would standardize and streamline the process of sorting waste, potentially saving the College thousands of dollars.

In the fall of 2019, the Wilson Center for Innovation and Leadership sponsored five students to attend the annual Society for the Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) conference.

Despite being closed to the public, Grinnell's maker lab (MLab) kept its machines running to support the Grinnell community and central Iowa through the production of personal protective equipment (PPE) and PPE-making tools.

BRASA Summit is a conference that gathers Brazilian college students studying outside their country and influential leaders to discuss some of the country’s main issues and to debate solutions.
