Join us in celebrating and congratulating Professors Erickson, Harrison, Praitis, and Willis on these well-deserved honors, and in thanking the donors whose generosity continues to shape the intellectual life of Grinnell College. This formal celebration of faculty distinction on Thursday, February 5.
The College has continued to monitor road conditions, flight cancellations, and other travel disruptions overnight and through the early morning hours. Classes will be cancelled on Monday, Dec. 1 to provide all those traveling back to campus additional time to return safely from Thanksgiving break.
After careful review, the Board of Trustees has approved an overall 2.5% increase to the total comprehensive fee for the 2026-27 academic year. This is the lowest annual increase in the comprehensive fee since the College began keeping records 67 years ago, and lower than the current 3% rate of inflation, as measured by the U.S. Consumer Price Index (CPI).
Every year on November 8, we express our gratitude for the accomplishments of all first-generation Grinnellians – faculty, staff, students, and alumni – by observing First-Generation College Celebration Day. This day commemorates the signing of the Higher Education Act of 1965, which increased access, retention, and completion rates for first-generation and low-income (FGLI) students.
