Grinnell College is partnering with the City of Grinnell and the Poweshiek County Sheriff’s Office to offer a $2,000 reward for information leading to charges being filed against those responsible for acts of racially-based harassment and vandalism in Poweshiek County.

President Anne F. Harris updates the campus community on the work that has been done in response to racist harassment and racist vandalism directed at Black community members.

Grinnell College President Anne F. Harris will serve on the Capital Crossroads Advisory Council leading the development of the 2040 regional vision plan. The Advisory Council represents a diverse array of organizations to ensure people of different backgrounds and interests have an opportunity to inform the future direction of Central Iowa.

President Anne F. Harris thanks campus for use of the bias incident reporting mechanism and provides updates on reporting, cooperation with the City of Grinnell, cameras, the InformaCast safety app, and transportation.

I write today to share the sad news of the passing on Saturday of one of our College’s most remarkable members: President Emeritus and Professor Emeritus George Drake ’56. For the great many Grinnellians who knew George Drake, this news will bring great sadness.

We call on the citizens of Grinnell to mobilize against the acts of racist harassment that continue to happen in the city of Grinnell and the campus of Grinnell College.
