Professor Craig Quintero’s “Blur” is a new extended reality (XR) theatrical experience that combines live performance, motion capture, immersive technologies, and interactive storytelling, integrating the physical and the virtual in a seamless mixed-reality format.
The original play ‘Songs of the Scarlet and Wayback’ is a “throwback party turned time travel train ride,” inspired by Poweshiek County community interviews, student archival research, performances, pageants, and parties of Grinnell’s past. The production will officially premiere in the Flanagan Theatre on Friday, March 8, 2024.
Professor Craig Quintero’s virtual reality film, “All That Remains,” premiered at the 79th Venice Film Festival in September. This fall at Grinnell, he is mounting a performance of “Blur” — performed for an audience of one.
