Student interns at the local library share local history and develop a stronger connection to the town of Grinnell.

Since 1933 the American Philosophical Society has awarded small grants to scholars in order to support the cost of research leading to publication in all areas of knowledge. This year, four Grinnell College professors were awarded Franklin Research Grants.

Truman Scholars demonstrate outstanding leadership potential, a commitment to a career in government or the nonprofit sector, and academic excellence.

Grinnell College students Makaela Burch’22 and Andy Pavey ’22 were awarded Critical Language Scholarships for summer 2021.

Grinnell College will award honorary degrees to the following individuals making major contributions to the fields of science, humanities and social science.  

Diana Chege ’22, an English major from Nairobi, Kenya, was awarded the Fischlowitz Travel Fellowship for 2021. She plans to visit New York, Washington, D.C., Texas, and California in August to explore the experience of Black women in the United States.

Scott’s address, “The Magic of the Red Shoes,” will be a continuation of the exploration of the Wizard of Oz as a truth telling moment.

The College holds in deep regard that community health means protecting the health of the many people in our community: students, staff, faculty, and the broader Grinnell community that the College calls home.
