Preparing for Graduate Study in the Health Professions

Health Professions Advisory Committee

The Health Professions Advisory Committee (HPAC) at Grinnell College coordinates activities to prepare students for application to health professional graduate schools. Committee advisors help students with curriculum planning and are responsible for the preparation of committee letters of recommendation. The HPAC works closely with the Center for Careers, Life, and Service (CLS), which can help students and young alumni explore health care fields, find internship opportunities and community connections, think about the personal statement, and prepare for interviews. Contact any member with questions.

Pre-Health Application Meeting for Students

Planning for a health professions career takes effort and preparedness. Each year, HPAC coordinates a mandatory information session for students intending to apply to medical and other health professional programs within the academic year. At the meeting, HPAC faculty will explain the timeline and process for requesting a committee letter of recommendation. View upcoming events for the Health Professions Career Community or contact the HPAC administrator for more information.
