Grinnell has long been an incubator for leaders and innovators by educating students in the liberal arts through free inquiry and the open exchange of ideas. With a strong tradition of self-governance, a commitment to diversity, a celebration of social innovation, and the routine practice of critical thinking and creativity, Grinnellians embody much of what it means to be a leader and innovator.
The Wilson Center works to further catalyze leadership and innovation among our students through complementary coursework, personal experiences, and event programming that inspires them and prepares them to leverage their liberal arts education into success as leaders and innovators.

The Moth Storytelling Workshop and Slam for Students
This storytelling workshop, led by professional instructors from The Moth, is open to all Grinnell College students.
The workshop will be held on the afternoons of Feb. 17–18, 2024, but the deadline to register is December 8. Participants will be prompted to reflect on their life and their place in the world, led through exercises to craft a compelling story, and given space to practice their storytelling skills. Selected workshop participants will be invited to share their stories in a slam on Sunday evening, but all workshop participants are expected to attend the slam. The slam will be open for anyone to attend.
Registration for the workshop is only open to current Grinnell College students and will be capped at 30 students. Register by December 8.
