Beronda L. Montgomery, an internationally recognized plant biology researcher and expert on mentoring in science, will join Grinnell in July 2022
Grinnell College faculty members have been selected for a number of prestigious awards, fellowships, and scholarly prizes over the past few months.

Each major and concentration at Grinnell College has a Student Educational Policy Committee (SEPC), a group of students who are “working to improve student experience in the major or concentration department and the Grinnell community as a whole.”

The Board of Trustees has approved the awarding of tenure, and President Anne F. Harris has approved numerous faculty promotions for the 2021–22 academic year.

This is the inaugural year of recognizing Juneteenth with a holiday, giving employees of the College an opportunity to celebrate the historic day with loved ones.

Given that our students are making good progress toward their degrees, despite a very difficult and intense year, Grinnell College will not offer classes in Summer 2021. We will work individually with the few students who need further academic credit on options towards the degree.

Jin Feng will serve as the Associate Dean for Faculty Development and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Her commitment to faculty development and mentoring faculty throughout the stages of careers and leadership and experience will be beneficial to the Grinnell Community.

The spirit of community and desire to care for students prompted the quick development of summer classes during the COVID-19 pandemic.
