Across the street from campus at the corner of Park Street and 6th Avenue in Grinnell, Iowa, sits a 30–by-80-foot plot that’s been tilled and cared for. In the milder months, you’ll see it filled with crops like peppers and radishes, and you’ll see Grinnellians working there.

The award winners will be honored during Reunion 2020.

Juan Carlos Pérez Borja ’11, Juan Castaño ’00, and Zoé Strecker ’88 each receive $35,000 to advance ongoing social projects.

Grinnell Prize Winner Shafiq R. Kahn, through his work with EMPOWER PEOPLE, strives to eradicate bride trafficking in India and to empower girls and women affected by trafficking.

Together the Ericksons taught, encouraged, mentored, and supported thousands of students. A group of those students have now returned the favor by funding the professorship.
