Perez, professor of Spanish, has been selected as a new artist in the Iowa Artist Career Accelerator Program for 2026. In addition, Perez received a grant award of $2,500 which she will use to research and develop a new series of large-scale mixed media textile sculptures inspired by pioneering women sculptors whose practices embody resilience, identity, and material innovation.

When Tristan Davis ’25 first visited Grinnell College, it was the small classes and close faculty relationships that drew him in. But what he found in his four years as a student extended well beyond the classroom: a deep connection to the community, an opportunity to engage in meaningful local work, and, ultimately, the inspiration to pursue a graduate degree abroad in the growing field of environmental humanities. 

The transformation of Hannah Alumni House is nearing completion. The 107-year-old house, located at 1527 Broad St., will welcome alumni back to the College and provide a warm, comfortable venue for events, meetings, and lodging.

This summer, Grinnell students explored the Four Corners region through three programs: a Grand Canyon outdoor recreation trip, a Colorado social justice institute and internship, and a Mentored Advanced Project (MAP) traveling to a Wyoming archaeological excavation.

On Friday, Sept. 12, faculty, staff, students, community members and local organizations gathered at the Katherine Howell Weingart ’61 Civic Innovation Pavilion for Coffee with the College. The event spotlighted the meaningful impact of Grinnell College’s Community Mini-Grant Program as recent recipients shared updates on their funded projects.

Grinnell advanced in several areas in the 2025–26 U.S. News & World Report rankings of National Liberal Arts Colleges.  

After Joe Rosenfield graduated from Grinnell in 1925, he dedicated much of the rest of his life to nurturing and preserving the College that meant so much to him.

Four new members have been elected to the Grinnell College Board of Trustees.  All trustees are elected by the full board and serve a term of four years; each trustee is eligible for re-election for three additional consecutive, full terms.
