Consider starting your application to Grinnell by submitting the  Preliminary Application. This optional part of the application process will give you access to additional information about application timelines, scholarships, and the college search process. A complete application to Grinnell requires the Common Application (we have no application fee). Regular Decision is available to all students completing secondary schooling, and Early Decision is a great choice for students for whom Grinnell is a clear first choice.

In addition to the application requirements of the Common Application, you must also submit either your SAT or ACT  score. We’d love to meet you, so we recommend (but don’t require) an interview

Admission to Grinnell is highly selective, and while there is no single factor that guarantees admission, it helps to have taken a challenging, balanced high school curriculum. Our recommended secondary school program is:

  • 4 years of English
  • 4 years of mathematics (at least through pre-calculus)
  • 3 years of social studies
  • 3 years of lab science
  • 3 years of a foreign language

Once we receive your application, we will send you a user name and instructions on how to check your application status.
