Ballet Des Moines premiers “See the Music (Hear the Dance)” in Grinnell

Ballet Des Moines debuted its performance of “See the Music (Hear the Dance)” on Feb. 20 at Grinnell High School. The event, a collaboration with the Civic Music Association, and presented by Grinnell College, featured a company of 22 professional dancers and live musicians on stage, including the renowned Aizuri Quartet and pianist Douglas-Jayd Burn.

All Aboard! ‘Songs of the Scarlet and Wayback’ Draws on Collective Grinnell History

The original play ‘Songs of the Scarlet and Wayback’ is a “throwback party turned time travel train ride,” inspired by Poweshiek County community interviews, student archival research, performances, pageants, and parties of Grinnell’s past. The production will officially premiere in the Flanagan Theatre on Friday, March 8, 2024.
