Chavez-Silva, said, “Having the opportunity to serve with Volunteer Iowa has been such a privilege. This is an organization that works behind the scenes to provide resources and support to Iowa's nonprofit organizations and their volunteers and the Volunteer Iowa staff go above and beyond to make this work possible. Because of Volunteer Iowa, I've been able to see firsthand how volunteers across the state uplift communities and make a difference in people's lives every day. It's an inspiration to see what's possible when dedicated people work together to get something done.”
The award, presented through Volunteer Iowa on behalf of the Governor’s Volunteer Awards Committee, honors individuals who have dedicated their time and talents to meeting community needs and strengthening communities across the state.
