There are two new Special Collections and Archives exhibits to enjoy!

The first exhibit is the student-curated exhibit, “FIGHT BACK: Student Protest” located in Burling Gallery. This exhibit showcases some of the acts of defiance that Grinnell College students displayed at a tumultuous point in the nation’s history.  Many of these protests addressed issues that are still relevant to Grinnell students today. Topics covered include the Saga Food Service strike, the Buildings and Grounds strike, CBS activities such as the takeover of Burling Library, and anti-Vietnam War protests. The exhibit was curated by Erik Henderson ’19 and Temitayo Wolff ’20 and is available for viewing during library hours.

The second Burling exhibit is a display of eleven books concerning Arthurian legend from Special Collections and Archives. Highlights include a copy of Syr Perecyvelle of Gales printed in 1895 by William Morris at the Kelmscott Press and a first edition of Idylls of the King by Alfred, Lord Tennyson. The exhibit is located in the Special Collections and Archives reading room. Hours are Monday-Friday 1:30–5 p.m. and mornings by appointment.
