Truman Scholars demonstrate outstanding leadership potential, a commitment to a career in government or the nonprofit sector, and academic excellence.

Grinnell College students Makaela Burch’22 and Andy Pavey ’22 were awarded Critical Language Scholarships for summer 2021.

The Samuel Huntington Public Service Award provides a $15,000 stipend to graduating college seniors to pursue a meaningful public service activity. Frimpong will develop a youth entrepreneurship program in Gbulahagu, Ghana, that she named EntrepreYearn.

Four Grinnell seniors and two alumni were awarded Fulbright U.S. student grants for research/study and teaching English in 2020–21.

Rachel Bass ’19 and Timothy Burnette ’19 were selected for their academic achievements. The award was designed to foster and encourage outstanding students to pursue careers in the fields of mathematics, the natural sciences, and engineering.

Each recipient receives $30,000 for a postgraduate year of study and travel abroad.
