Cultural Competency Training Series
Our three-part Cultural Competency Training Series supports participants in developing greater intercultural awareness and effectiveness through reflection, discussion, and practical application.
Introduction to Cultural Competence
Integrated with the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI)®, this workshop introduces participants to the intercultural development continuum while increasing awareness of cultural worldviews, identity, and personal growth opportunities.
Intercultural Communication
Participants explore how culture influences communication styles, expectations, and interactions while developing practical skills for communicating effectively across cultural differences.
Navigating Difference and Conflict
This workshop examines how culture and conflict styles influence responses to disagreement and tension. Participants identify their preferred conflict style and learn strategies for engaging in productive dialogue across differences.
Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI)®
The Intercultural Development Inventory is an internationally recognized assessment that measures intercultural competence and provides a developmental framework for growth.
Departments participating in the IDI receive facilitated group debriefs that help teams better understand collective strengths, identify opportunities for growth, and develop strategies for building more inclusive and culturally responsive workplace environments.
Active Bystander Training
Active Bystander Training equips participants with practical skills to recognize, interrupt, and respond to bias, discrimination, harassment, and other harmful behaviors.
Participants learn to navigate common barriers to intervention while applying the 5Ds framework:
- Direct
- Distract
- Delegate
- Delay
- Document
The training emphasizes community responsibility, accountability, and creating environments where everyone contributes to a culture of care and belonging.
Bias Awareness and Mitigation
Bias Awareness and Mitigation explores how implicit bias influences perceptions, decision making, and interpersonal interactions.
