Do you love music? The Music Department offers lessons, ensembles, and courses for beginners and experienced musicians alike, in styles ranging from Gregorian chant to Gospel. Courses in theory, history, ethnomusicology, jazz, composition, and performance have interdisciplinary links to many other departments; with intense faculty mentoring, music majors develop strong career opportunities in these and many other fields. Come explore our world-class instrument collection, and sample some of the 100-plus events we host each year!

For Vincent Kelley '16 and Omri Benami '16, making music is about engaging with many different disciplines. The Grinnell approach to music allows them to meaningfully dive into the complexity of the history and context of the music they play.
